Our Legacy

We didn’t always call ourselves B:Side. For over 30 years our organization was known as Colorado Lending Source, establishing our reputation as a stalwart supporter of helping small business owners succeed, create jobs, and live their passions. We truly care about inclusive lending and know how essential this is to drive economic development. These sentiments still ring true today where our mission to foster the economic growth of diverse small businesses serves as the foundation for everything we do. In 2021, we rebranded as two organizations under one unifying brand as B:Side Capital (our sister organization geared towards banking partners) and B:Side Fund to reflect our expanded focus, mission, and offerings.

Why B:Side?

Some of us are old enough to remember an age before streaming music or even CDs. Yes, we're talking about the age of vinyl records and cassette tapes…

The A-side of the tape always featured the popular radio-friendly hits that we all knew and loved.

The B:Side, however, was where the deep cuts resided. These were the songs written for true fans who had the patience and dedication to look a little deeper.

We like to think of ourselves as true fans of small business. We relish the opportunity to look at the B-sides of the business world, those companies that might not always be the bank-friendly slam dunk most of the world looks for. We go deeper and find those hidden gems that would otherwise be overlooked. That's why we call ourselves B:Side.
